Before You Sell

POA Packet

The document has approximately 20 sections. Included in the packet are copies of all HOA legal documents as specified by the VA Property Owner’s Act and the Common Interest Community Board of VA.  Other sections include bylaws, restrictions, financial documents, liability insurance, minutes for annual meeting and most recent board meetings, plus much more.

Note to Prospective Buyers – The following documents could be helpful in deciding whether to buy in Mountain View Shores. Current copies can be found on the “Documents” section of this website.

  • By-laws of Mountain View Shores Homeowners Association, Inc.

  • MVSHOA Restrictions

  • Guidelines for Homebuilders and Remodelers

As part of the Seller’s contractual agreement with the prospective Buyers, the Seller’s Agent must contact Mountain View Shores HOA to request a copy of the POA Packet. This request should be as close to the original contract date as possible.

Before a POA Packet can be sent, the Seller’s Agent should fill out the information requested on the POA Packet Request Form and send it to the Vice President of MVSHOA.

  • A $50.00 check from the Seller/Seller’s Agent should be sent to the Treasurer of MVSHOA at the address listed on the request form. Upon receipt, the Treasurer will confirm that no liens or dues are outstanding.

  • Once requested information and check are received, the Vice President will process and send the POA packet to the Seller’s Agent.

  • After settlement is completed the Seller’s Agent should send a copy of the Disclosure Page from the POA Packet to confirm sale and correct Buyers contact information. This will help update the MVSHOA database so that the new owner will receive annual dues statements, MVS directory and important community correspondence.

Boat Ramp Access and Storage Lots

Reserved space in the community storage lots are not transferable when selling your home.  ALL KEYS should be returned to MVSHOA before closing.  This includes both storage lot and boat ramp keys.

Note to Prospective Buyers – To receive a key to access the boat ramp or request a space in one of the storage areas, please fill out the Boat Ramp & Storage Lot Agreement

  • Your first key to access the boat ramp is free; after that there will be a modest charge.

  • There is no guarantee that a reserved space in one of the storage areas will be available at the time of request.  One spot per Owner will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.  If no space is available, the approved request will be placed on a waiting list.  Additional spaces may be available but will depend on current usage of the storage areas.

  • Items placed in the storage lots shall be maintained in operable condition and be clearly identified by a current, legible, and valid Association decal
